Why you need a welcome sequence.

So, you’ve developed a terrifically delicious resource, and people are happily trading their email addresses for access to that gem. All good. But will they remember you when you start sending them your weekly newsletter? Obviously we all get way more email than we can possibly read, so you’ve got to make yours stand out. Let your new fan know that your emails are not to be missed.

It’s like going to a party as a plus one; you say hi to the host and accept a Negroni, but if you don’t strike up a conversation, she may not remember you at all. She’s got a household full of guests to attend to. But spend five minutes bonding over your shared love of 80’s hair bands, and you’ve just found a new karaoke partner.

Your welcome sequence is the place to recommend your best blog posts, introduce offers, and give your new subscriber a taste of who you are and how you work. Showcase your personality! If this person gets you and relates to you they’ll open every email you send.

This three-email sequence is from a decluttering consultant. The first email offers the reader a second chance to download the lead magnet, in case it went missing or the recipient forgot all about it.
